The following Email was received from a supposedly loving Catholic

I imagine you are Catholic? If you are then you are my brother, catholic blood flows through our veins. I don't hate my brothers, I'm one of the first to defend hispanics my uncle is from Brazil. I contact elected officials and ask why isn't there investment in Mexico and South America?, I would rather money and jobs going their than to communist China.

But, there is a unsavory Marxist criminal separatist element coming from south of the border and you know it's the truth. Understand Puerto Rican's, Colombians, Venezuelans, Mexicans, Dominicans or Brazilians are not the same people they are not a new race called Latino/Hispanics. You have two things in common Spanish heritage and Roman Catholicism. The differences will be a problem just like they were in Europe.

We have a good thing here, Catholicism is getting stronger everyday. But seeing people in videos screaming go back to Europe and you stole these land offends me and it offends the people who have nothing to do with stealing lands and slavery. It makes me wanna rethink my belief all Catholics are brothers and sisters. My family didn't immigrate here till after 1900 in fact my people "Irish" fought with the Mexicans against the US. You not only harm your cause by protesting and marching in streets demanding citizenship, you hurt the Church! Protestants are already suspicious of Catholics and Catholics start to think the church is helping the mass illegal immigration and the criminals who have been setting up shop throughout the NE.

Why not try to work with Americans to get rid of the separatist criminal and Marxist element and their families here illegally. Help people learn English not Spanglish and help them to Assimilate!!! I support a pathway to citizenship, temporary worker program for people who came to work. But I don't support it for drug smugglers!! Criminals who commit crimes steal SS# numbers and ruin peoples credit!!! Someone who crosses the border 9 months pregnant so they can usurp our laws and steal money from us by claiming citizenship for the child then going on the public assistance for the rest of their lives!!!

I suggest you rethink your approach to the citizenship problem we are willing to work a compromise with those who will be good Americans.
Every crime a illegal alien commits in the US turns hundreds of people against you!!! Clean up your own back yard first.

And don't foget we are brothers and sisters.

My Response to this supposed Catholic

You are truly a hypocrite!!  You say " It makes me wanna rethink my belief all Catholics are brothers and sisters." Hypocrite!!!!!!!!!!!  You are a doubter!!! Agnostic!!!!!  You don't truly believe in those principles you purport if you make those type of statements!!!

You say "we have a good thing here". Do you mean, don't allow any more Immigrants to assimilate? You talk about the increase in Catholicism. I beg to differ sir. Statistics will show that there has been an increase in people joining the Muslim religion and become non-denomination Christians. Why? Well to escape that damaging mentality that you promote. To escape the cover up of the Catholic Church. To protect their children from the sexual assaults perpetrated by the very men that they trusted who represent everything the Catholic Church represents, the PRIESTS.

You say "Help people learn English not Spanglish and help them to Assimilate!!!"

You say people yell go back to Europe...Yet you observe videos of Americans of European descent yelling "go back to Mexico" to Latinos of Mexican descent that were born here in the U.S.!!!

You do not know me and yet you judge me. I run a non-profit literacy organization that teaches people to speak, read and write English for free. We also teach illiterate Americans to read for free. You should be ashamed of yourself. I am completely assimilated!!! I promote assimilation. I believe in securing our borders and supporting our troops. I support Immigration reform that promotes a path to citizenship, but not for those who have committed crimes while here in our great United States.

You see, you have misjudged me and painted me with that same brush used by Racists!!  That brush used by Xenophobes!!! 

Sir, I see you have been very attentive and a good student of right wing extremist radio jocks like Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity to name a few. When I see their ideas and thoughts written in your message as if they had come out of your study bible, I know where you have been and where you are headed.

You try and write so passively and you mask you attempt to mask your hate yet you end your message with "Clean up your own back yard first."

Shame on you!!  Why is it my backyard? What makes you think I am here illegally?  Why do you tell me I have a splinter in my eye when you have a log in yours?

You are of Irish descent. Your people came here doing the great potato famine. They arrived illegally on boats and were not welcomed. They were called MICKS!!!  Why do you forget what your people did and how they violated the law?  Why was it okay for your people, criminal element and all to be given a path to citizenship? Many of your people were criminals that did the laborious work of manning the boats on which your ancestors arrived. I have done my research Sir!!!  Have you? Or have you done the research, yet choose to be selective about what you will accept and the talking points you will utilize?

The question still remains. Why do you call yourself a good Christian? A Catholic!!!  You Sir do not share the same ideals, principles and values that I maintain. You have made a serious error in judgment. You sir are not my brother!!!  You are everything I am not. You do not in any way care about your brothers and sisters!!!

In summary, shame on you!!!  HYPOCRITE!!!!!
